Topfit Brick, also known as Autoclaved Foamed Concrete Brick, was researched and developed by Jiangmen Topfit Wall Materials Co. Ltd. and patent protected by the Government of the People’s Republic of China. 1. Water proof / Anti-seepage – Topfit brick’s are embedded with non-connecting micro air bubbles, thus lowering the density and water absorption rate (No capillarity effect).? As a result, paint, wallpapers, and other decorations will be safe from water related damages due to its very low permeability. (Water tank built with Topfit Brick does not leak without any waterproofing measure.)
2. Mortar will not crack/nor peeling off – Topfit brick’s dry shrinkage ratio is very low and has a strong adhesion with concrete, resulting in high resistance from peeling off and cracking of surface.
3. Energy Saving / Heat Insulation –Topfit Brick’s grade B11 and B12 products, with heat conductivity of 0.48W/m.K and 0.65W/m.K respectively, satisfies China’s new Federal Regulation in energy saving and heat insulation requirement. ?Furthermore, Topfit B06 has a heat conductivity of 0.15W/m.K, and it is best suitable for rooftop heat insulation. Enormous amount of energy will be saved in air conditioning or heating for buildings constructed with Topfit Brick.
4. High Fire Resistance – By officially testing of a 3m x 3m x 11.5cm wall(plus 1 cm mortar on both sides) built with Topfit Bricks (B11) collected randomly from factory by the National Fire Bureau officers, the fire resistance rating exceeds 6 hours including insulation and integrity. ?Thus, Topfit is the highest fire resistance wall building brick on the market.
5. Sound Insulation –Building Material Testing Centre of Guangdong confirmed by test that Topfit brick’s (B11) sound insulation levels are capable of blocking up to 49.5 dB with a 10cm? thick wall.? It is best suited for karaokes, hotels, hospitals, and schools that require acoustic controls. (No more trouble from noisy neighbor or vice versa.)
6. Easy Surface Treatment – Wall surface built with Topfit Brick does not require special water proof treatment. ?It requires very thin plastering or even no plastering before finishing and painting.? Exposed wall surface without finishing is also waterproof and long lasting.
7. Easy to work on – Topfit bricks can be nailed, drilled, chiseled and accommodates expansion bolts with high strength.? Fasteners can be applied with pneumatic gun. Channels for electric cable or water pipe can be easily grooved by hammer drill or cutting disc.
8. Frost Resistant – Due to the frost resisting properties of Topfit Brick, it is the perfect wall building brick for the northern area.? Tests by the National Testing Centre of Building Material in Beijing confirmed a very low lost of quantity (0.3%) and strength (7.5%) after repeated cycles of freezing and defrosting, comparing to the 27% loss in quantity of some other type of bricks..
9. Shortening of Construction Time – Given Topfit brick’s high strength, light weight, reasonable sizes, water proofing, easy to treat on, etc, time for wall building can be shortened by 30% to 50%.
10. Lower Construction Cost/ Economical – Topfit bricks weigh 2/3 of clay bricks. ?The wall thickness is also reduced to a more reasonable size of 10cm and 15 cm, thus lowering the self weight and large amount of steel, concrete and foundation.? Compared to other light weight bricks that require water resistant coating (Rmb30 per m2 of material), for building 5 m2(20cm thick) or 10m2(10cm thick) wall, Topfit bricks can approximately save Rmb150 to Rmb300 per m3 of brick in coating material.
11. Easy Partitioning – For usual high rise building, by adopting the beam/column design without shear wall and use Topfit Brick for building external wall and partitioning, there will be big savings in job duration, form works, reinforcing steel and labor cost.?
